Apple have sent out additional invitation for a Chinese iPhone launch event that will take place on the 11th of September. This event will take place in Beijing. The event invitations are the same suggesting that the broad theme for the two announcements will be the same. These events are said to be satellite launches with further events being held in Tokyo and Berlin.
Apple is expected to announce the launch of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C as well as the official iOS 7. Apple CEO Tim Cook has been visiting Chinese carrier officials and we presume that this is to trash out a deal that would see the iPhone coming to China Mobile. Apple is working hard to bolster its image in China with the huge potential market in the region being something that Tim Cook doesn't want to ignore. Apple is also reportedly considering building a research and development center in the region too.
Currently, Google's Android is the top selling in China and this is mostly due to the fact that the iPhone doesn't have an official carrier in this country. If Tim Cook has managed to broker a deal with China Mobile, it will see the iPhone launch following the September 11th event. We don't know whether both iPhone will launch but the iPhone 5C seems to be a very good bet.
This is the first time that Apple has held a special event for the Chinese press only and it may signal a new focus for the company moving forward.
