Sn0wbreeze 2.9.10 has just been released to allow an untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.1.2. If you have an iPhone 5, iPhone 4S or any of the other newer iOS devices we suggest that you jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 using Evasi0n.
The popular Sn0wbreeze jailbreak tool has now been updated to version 2.9.10, bringing with it a number of improvements and additions focusing on the new iOS 6.X untether. Whilst most people anxiously waited to get their hands on the Evasi0n jailbreak from the Evad3rs team, there are still some users who prefer to stick with the tried and tested Sn0wbreeze software. Version 2.9.10 of iH8sn0w's software is still completely windows only and Sn0wbreeze only supports A4 powered hardware.
If you have an older device that relies on a carrier unlock + hacktivation, Sn0wbreeze is the way to go. Using Sn0wbreeze you can cook a custom firmware for your device without the upgraded baseband so that you can unlock it with Ultrasn0w. Sn0wbreeze 2.9.10 supports pre A5 devices such as the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and fourth generation iPod Touch.
If you plan on using Sn0wbreeze 2.9.10 to jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 you first need to download the latest version of Sn0wbreeze and make sure that hte iOS device to be jailbroken is connected to your PC and running the latest firmware. Next you will need to located and unarchive your download of Sn0wbreeze before running the exe file. Next you will need to hit the blue next button and select the browse for an IPSW and point Sn0wbreeze to the relevant firmware for your device. Once Sn0wbreeze successfully identifies the provided IPSW file you just select next and click on the Simple Mode option. Sn0wbreeze will start to do what it does and you may have to wait a while. Once ready, Sn0wbreeze will ask you to put your device into Pwned DFU mode. Once done, Sn0wbreeze will provide you with an alert to say that the device is now in Pwned DFU mode. Close Sn0wbreeze, open iTunes and select the connected device from the left hand menu. Press and hold the left Shift key on the keyboard before clicking on Restore in iTunes. When asked for a firmware file to be selected you should point to the custom created IPSW from Sn0wbreeze which will be located on your computer desktop. Allow iTunes to go through the restore process and once completed you will have a fully jailbroken iPhone with Cydia on your home screen.
