Spotify For iPad Now Available

Loyal users of the Spotify music service now have something to smile about. After months of waiting the official Spotify app for the iPad has now been released for download. This free of charge app has been a long time coming and after recently signing a branding partnership with Coca-Cola the update to the Spotify app has now been completed. The existing iPhone Spotify app has been updated so that it now offers universal support and is available for the iPad. This means that it is now a single download for all iOS users and of course it is still free. Members do need to be signed up to a premium account in order to be able to make consistent use of the mobile service that they offer. We were allowed to have a 48 hour trial so that we could test out this app though. Once you download and launch the new Spotify app on your iPad you will see why the update has taken so long. The apps splash and login screen features a fantastic Spotify logo and a scrolling wall of album covers that transition in and out of view in the background. Once you login you will find lots of information and plenty of different options to choose from. It is still very usable and intuitive with the major sections being listed in the side bar that is placed on the left hand side. Seamless integration with built-up playlists is also included within this app along with a playback media bar which is similar to the iPads native music app. The whats new section in the Spotify app is great and it recommends music and you can see this playing. The docked media bar is great and the track you are playing or your playlist can be viewed in full screen with links for users to share their track via Facebook, Twitter or email. Users also have the ability to send music to compatible media devices using Apples AirPlay service. It may have taken a long time to get here, but the new Spotify iPad app really does deliver and is a welcome music addition.
