You will remember in our last post we mentioned that the new Absinthe 2.0 untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 was about to be unveiled. This is the latest version of the Chronic Dev Team tool and it brings an untethered jailbreak to the majority of iOS 5.1.1 devices.

The iPhone Dev Team leader MuscleNerd confirmed that the iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak will also be made available through the use of the Redsn0w tool as well as an updated version of the command line interface cinject binary. There are lots of users who prefer to use Redsn0w but for those of you who don�t mind Absinthe is great and it is very easy to use. Absinthe 2.0 will give users an untethered jailbreak on the iPhone 4 and 4S, iPhone 4GS, iPad 3rd generation, iPad 2 and 1, iPod touch 3G and 4G and the Apple TV 2nd generation. Absinthe 2.0 is available to download now for both Windows and Mac and is a very welcome addition to the jailbreak community who have been waiting patiently for an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 5.1.1.
